LocalCreators.io is a platform where organizations commission creative content and creators pitch, produce, and deliver that work. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
01
1. The two roles we play
LocalCreators.io serves two kinds of customers, and our responsibilities differ between them.
For your LocalCreators.io account, we act as the data controller. This covers your registration details, your login credentials, your notification preferences, and, if you are a creator, your profile and portfolio.
For an organization's workspace data, the organization is the controller and we process that data on its behalf. This covers gigs, pitches, proposals, projects, deliverables, messages, budgets, internal notes, and member records inside an organization's workspace. If you want to access, correct, or delete records held in an organization's workspace, contact that organization directly. We will support them in responding.

2. Information we collect
Account information. Name, email address, and a password. Passwords are stored only in hashed form. We also store email verification status and session records.
Creator profiles and portfolios. If you register as a creator, you choose what to share: biography, profile image, specialties, skills, disciplines, experience level, rate range, availability, languages, service locations, social links, and portfolio items including media files, descriptions, and tags.
Content you submit. Gigs, pitches, proposals, cover letters, proposed budgets, messages, feedback, deliverable files, and other attachments you upload while using the service.
Billing information. Organization subscriptions are billed through Stripe. Stripe collects and stores payment card details; we never see or store full card numbers. We keep records of your plan, subscription status, and billing events.
Usage and log data. Sign-ins, security events, and actions taken in the service. We keep audit logs of significant events such as membership changes, role changes, pitch decisions, deliverable approvals, and administrative actions, because our customers rely on that accountability.
Cookies. We use essential cookies only, to keep you signed in and to protect your session. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers.

3. How we use information
- To provide the service: matching organizations with creators, running pitch and project workflows, delivering files, and sending the messages and notifications you have asked for.
- To operate accounts: authentication, email verification, password resets, and security protections such as rate limiting.
- To bill organization subscriptions through Stripe.
- To send transactional email such as invitations, pitch decisions, deadline reminders, and deliverable feedback. You can manage notification preferences in your settings; some security and billing emails cannot be disabled.
- To keep the platform safe: uploaded files are automatically scanned for malware before they are shared.
- To maintain audit trails, investigate abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your information for third-party advertising.
04
4. How information is shared
Within organizations you work with. LocalCreators.io is a multi-tenant platform. When you pitch to an organization or work with one, the profile, portfolio, pitches, messages, and deliverables you share with that organization are visible to its authorized members. Organizations may also keep internal records about their work with you, such as shortlists and private notes; those records belong to the organization and are not visible to other organizations.
Strict separation between organizations. One creator account can work with many organizations, but each organization's workspace is isolated. One organization cannot see your pitches, messages, rates you offered, private notes, budgets, or deliverables belonging to another organization. We enforce this isolation in our application, our database (including row-level security), our file storage, and our background processing, and we test it continuously.
Service providers. We share information with vendors who help us run the platform: cloud hosting and database infrastructure, object storage for uploaded files, an email delivery provider for transactional email, Stripe for subscription billing, and malware scanning. Each provider is limited to what it needs to perform its service.
Platform administration. Our administrators may access accounts to provide support. Support access, including any impersonation of a user account, is logged and auditable. Administrators cannot silently bypass audit requirements.
Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, or when necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of LocalCreators.io, our users, or the public.
Business transfers. If LocalCreators.io is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in ownership or in how your information is handled.
05
5. Data retention
We keep your information while your account is active. If you close your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must keep it longer: audit logs, billing records, and backup archives are retained for legal, security, and disaster-recovery purposes on fixed schedules, then deleted. Content you contributed to an organization's workspace, such as delivered work and messages, may be retained by that organization as its business records.
06
6. Security
We protect information with encryption in transit, hashed credentials, role-based permissions enforced on the server for every protected operation, tenant isolation backed by database row-level security, signed time-limited URLs for file access, malware scanning of uploads, rate limiting, secret management, dependency scanning, and tested backup and restore procedures. No system is perfectly secure, so if we learn of a breach affecting your personal information we will notify you and any affected organizations as required by law.
07
7. Your choices and rights
- Access and correction. You can view and edit your account and profile in your settings at any time.
- Deletion. You may request deletion of your account by contacting hello@localcreators.io. Records controlled by an organization are subject to that organization's own policies.
- Notifications. You control notification preferences in your settings.
- Portability. You may request an export of the personal information we hold about you as controller.
Depending on where you live, including under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the EU and UK GDPR, you may have additional rights, such as objecting to processing or lodging a complaint with a supervisory authority. We honor verified requests as those laws require, and we do not discriminate against you for exercising them.
08
8. Children
LocalCreators.io is a professional service for adults. It is not directed to children, and you must be at least 18 years old to use it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we will delete it.
09
9. International users
LocalCreators.io is operated from the United States, and information is processed and stored in the United States. If you use the service from outside the United States, you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the service or by email before the changes take effect. The effective date at the top always reflects the current version.
